Welcome to the Redtails Website

The Redtails aim to create a Football Club incorporating the Right Tracks Program to drive change in the community of Central Australia. It's main aim apart from participating in the NTFL competition in Darwin is to create a team that gives strong healthy pathways in behaviour, job readiness programs, healthy living and bridging the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Central Australians creating unity and pride throughout Central Australia and beyond. This team allows it's players to participate only if they are employed, studying or in the Right Tracks Program.

2018 Indigenous Guernsey designed by Curtis Haines

In 2018 Curtis Haines designed our Redtails Indigenous Guernsey as a tribute to Josh Palmer, a young indienous man of whom we lost tragically in 2010 via a family violence incident.

Curtis is one of our Senior Redtails Indigenous players, that has been involved with the club since Rob Clarke and Ian McAdam founded it in 2011.
He has also gone through the Right Tracks Program gaining permanent employment at the Alice Springs Hospital in 2013.
He is still employed there today and very proud of his achievement as well as being a valuable employee to the Hospital as an interpreter for the community patients that need his services to understand what medical conditions they have as well as treatment and assistance they may need.

The Redtails Indigenous Guernsey designed by Curtis was worn on the 27th May 2018 for the curtain raiser game between the CAFC Redtails and the Top End Storm Darwin prior to Round 10 AFL game between Melbourne Demons and Adelaide Crows at Traeger Park in Alice Springs and televised to the Nation by Channel 7. It was an amazing day for all involved.

It was also worn again for the Curtain Raiser game against Top End Storm on the 21st July 2019 prior to the Round 18 AFL game between Melbourne Demons and West Coast Eagle at Traeger Park in Alice Springs.
Curtis said the design represents players coming from many different communities around Central Australia to play as One, he also included a stick figure of Josh kicking goals on the front of the Guernsey to acknowledge and play tribute to him and his family .
